3D PV Drafting is a class designed to teach professionals how to utilize Google SketchUp. Google SketchUp is a free program that individuals and companies can use to analyze and sell Photovoltaic Systems. In this class, the client will learn the basic functions of Google SketchUp. They will then be taught how to exploit Google SketchUp’s features to turn satellite images of properties and turn them into 3D renderings. 3D PV Drafting will further this education by teaching the clients how to use Google SketchUp’s shade analysis tools.

When the class is done, the client will have the following skills: Ability to open and run Google SketchUp, Understand the basic principles of drafting, understand how to convert 2D drawings into 3D models, know how to create 3D images from existing satellite images, Perform shade analysis from satellite images, Create quality renderings for presentations and permitting. The clients will also take home (3x) 3D drafting projects from the class (Sharp ND-224UC1 module, House Example 1, and House Example 2).

3D PV Drafting is a 4 hour course. After 3D PV Drafting, the client will be prepared to handle the drafting requirements for Sales, Engineering, and permitting in the Photovoltaic Industry.
